Pastoral Care
What we offer:
1. Holistic Package of Care in the context of: Debriefing Retreat Pastoral Care 2. Regular, ongoing: Spiritual Direction Supervision |
Pastoral Care is a formal expression of Christian soul care - it offers the gift of Christian love and nurture from one who attempts to mediate the gracious presence of God to another who is in need. It is a ministry of compassion, its source and motivation being the love of God.
Historically pastoral care has been expressed through the functions of guiding, healing, sustaining and reconciling. The driven-ness and consumerism of our world has pervaded our 'Christian Culture' - our churches, missions and ministries - so that many experience an 'inner fatigue' and spiritual exhaustion. This pervasive tiredness often accumulates gradually over months and years so that it goes unrecognised. Pastoral care offers time out for rest and restoration - not just a refuge from the stress but a sacred space to be refreshed and renewed physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. |
What we offer
We envisage a pastoral care package being less structured than debriefing. A person(s) may come for a two to five day period staying near us, with our support. Will involve a person(s): Spending time on their own, sleeping, walking, relaxing and reflection. Meeting with us on some basis each day for input and care, for example: * To help address underlining issues * Spiritual direction 'type' conversations * Offer of resources * Prayer, meditation on scripture etc. Fees Click here for information about fees. |
