Supervision
What we offer:
1. Holistic Package of Care in the context of: Debriefing Retreat Pastoral Care 2. Regular, ongoing: Spiritual Direction Supervision |
The purpose of supervision is to provide a safe environment for the 'worker' to reflect upon both the content and process of the 'professional work' he/she seeks to undertake and what might be happening for them in the process. It seeks to ensure proper boundaries for the 'worker' to safely operate within; ensures safe practice.
'Supervision is a working alliance between a supervisor and a worker or workers in which the worker can reflect on her(him)self in her(his) working situation, by giving an account of her(his)work and receiving feedback and where appropriate guidance and appraisal. The objective of this alliance is to maximise the competence of the worker in providing a helping service,' (Inskipp and Proctor, 1988) Proposes three dimensions: Normative task - professional issues (standards, accountability, ethics) Formative task - practice issues (development of worker's skills) Restorative task - personal issues (for expression and recharge batteries). |
What we offer
Regular supervision has been a requirement for practice, by their professional bodies, for professions such as counselling, social work, spiritual direction etc. However it is now becoming seen as a valuable and necessary requirement for other helping professions - for pastors, ministers, mission partners etc. We would like to offer supervision: * As regular ongoing supervision for people in counselling, ministry etc * Within the context of the 'package of care'.
